- Nov. 25, 2011: Bucyrus International Inc., which acquired two Germany based mining equipment manufacturers in 2007, recently merged with Caterpillar Inc. Former multilingual Bucyrus executive, Luis de Leon, has taken on the role of president of Caterpillar's new global mining products business.
- Oct. 28, 2011: German retailer, Vom Vass, is opening a second wine and spirits store in Milwaukee.
- Aug. 12, 2011: German manufacturer of fluid power devices, Thomas Magnete, GmbH, is opening a new production facility in the greater Milwaukee area; expecting to employ 27 people by 2015.
